Club Membership Drive & Member #420

Friday, January 31, 2014 (17:02:30)
Waterloo will be having a membership drive during our Ice Bowl this Saturday (Feb 1st) at Wells Branch. If you aren't a club member yet this is a great time to join.

PLAYER MEMBERSHIP is just $10 (instead of $20) and you’ll get a member disc with your number on it PLUS a $10 Disc Nation Gift Certificate. It is essentially a “free” membership.

SUPPORTING MEMBERSHIP is just $25 (instead of $40) and you’ll get the disc, the certificate, and a special Supporting Member t-shirt.

If you are already one of the 413 club members, it is a great time to renew your membership to be current for 2014 (or beyond). Just $15 for a 1-year renewal and you’ll get a $10 Disc Nation Gift Certificate. Really… just $5 to support the club and our activities. We will have the certificates on hand to give to you as you renew.

You can also renew for multiple years and save some money. If you do, you will still receive a free ‘membership goodie’ like a Disc Nation certificate each year. $40 for a 3-year renewal (save $5); $65 for 5 years (save $10); $125 for 10 years (save $25); $300 for a Lifetime membership (save a bunch and never have to worry about renewing again!).

FINALLY: the BIG 420 Auction
Member #420 is almost upon us; who wants this awesome number? We are having a fundraising auction to help us with the big Zilker renovation project that is just starting.

The bidding to be 420 will begin in person at the Ice Bowl this Saturday, and then will continue online until the end of Monday, February 10th.

You must either be a club member already, or be willing to join the club to have a chance to be #420. If an existing club member wins the auction, he or she will still retain their original number, but will forever now be known as 420 ? All of the non-members who bid must still join the club at the end of the auction, even if they didn’t win. We will extend the Ice Bowl membership drive discounts to everyone who bids, so if you don’t win you still join as the reduced rate of $10 (essentially free after you get your $10 Disc Nation certificate) or $25.

It’s 420 in Austin, how cool is that!

Thank You for your Support at the Moody's Mini

Thursday, September 26, 2013 (18:28:30)
Waterloo Disc Golf Club would like to thank everyone who came out to Moody's on Sept. 21st for the 3rd fundraiser mini for the 36th Waterloo DG Classic.

Especially, a big thanks to Meteor Mike Schulgen and Aaron Stair for all the staffing help, and David & Julie Moody for opening up their ranch to us!

We had a little over 30 people enjoying a beautiful Fall day, and we raised $361 for the tournament.

Also, Dave Moody took the $160 in greens fees and gave it right back to the club as sponsorship for the 36th Waterloo. Thanks Moooooooody!

There were no aces, but Justin Webster got closest in the ace pot CTP to win $85. Ed Coffey got 2nd closest for $30.

Jeremy "Bird" Grange won 1st in Pros with a 60 (Fire on the Mountain course, from the blue tees). Jeremy Croke won 1st in Ams with a 57 (same course, white tees).

3 pros played twice, and it paid off for Mike Laitala as he slipped into 3rd place in pro with that second score.

Below are links to the scores and raffle prizes. If you weren't there to collect your winnings, pros can pick up their cash Thursdays at League or at the Waterloo Tournament Oct 18-20; ams can pick up their merchandise at the Waterloo Tournament (it will be the next time we have all our merch out and available).

"Circle C" Metro Park Workday ~ THIS SATURDAY ~ Come help!

Monday, September 09, 2013 (14:12:47) Waterloo Event
There is another workday this Saturday at Circle C (Sept 28th) to secure some of the baskets and tee signs.

Please come on out and help.

We have made some great progress, but we still have lots to go. Luckily, the rest of the baskets & tee signs are in places we can easily get to, so no more dragging bags of concrete or the jackhammer and generator up the hill (as we had to do with 7, 8, 9, and 10).

Starting early at 7 am to beat the heat; the more people we have the more we can get done!

Contact the club or Mike Schulgen for info/details/questions. Club 512-994-9508; Mike Schulgen 512-825-2587

August 31, 2013 ~ Searight Results and Raffle Prizes

Tuesday, September 03, 2013 (16:24:33) Waterloo Event
Final total raised at the 36th Waterloo Fundraiser #2 at Searight on August 31, 2013 was $472! Thank you to everyone who came out and took part.

Big thanks to the staff! Glenn Schleicher and Meteor Mike Schulgen both worked hard all the long, hot day (and me too). Troy Herman, Aaron Stair, Stevo Barnes, Tommy Schulgen, and others also helped, and Jeremiah Duke loaned us his grill so we were able to cook some food for the players and staff.

Additionally, the Downs family were all super ambassadors, helping to spread the love of our sport to some new folks.
